Free Volume Profile Indicator REPACK
These vantage points within the indicator give further insight into the state of the market and are thought to give hints of where prices may go. As pointed out earlier, markets are thought to move to areas and points of previous volume build-ups. So by showing an area where 70% of the volume occurred, and by further providing the largest volume bucket, the Volume Profile can help you plan your trades when markets see an oscillation within that defined area.

The volume profile is a tool or indicator that measures volume across price levels. You can read much more on the indicator here & here.
There are plenty of Volume/market profile indicators for cTrader developed by the community, you can develop one based on your own specific needs if the available ones don't have the features you are after.
1) Nickk allow me to disagree with your statement. There aren't ANY "great working volume profile indicators". That is not a true statement. And of course we are not talking about the ones charging $20/month!The ones that are free are buggy and not ready for prime time.I'm obviously grateful towards all the individuals that have been developing / converting indicators and cbots, because they have been devoting their time and are putting in a lot of effort without charging a single dime to help our trading community, And yes, many of the indicators that have been converted for cTrader, perform quite good. 2) IMHO Spotware's priorities should be the needs of their clients/users. Yes we are seeing updates once in a while but not frequent enough.3) I have asked for a simple percentage indicator for over two years and no one from their software development team has listened. 4) Same issue with a footprint - order flow chart indicator that is able to combine volume profile. These are must have trading tools that are not part of the cTrader platform, but the competition does offer them.
Hi Nick, would you mind sharing which nice volume profile you are using? Once you use volume profile in other platforms you get right away that ctrader lacks big time this tool. I tested myself every single free volume profile out there and they are poor if you compare com other platforms (tradingview for instance).
When we hear the volume word in trading we think of OHLC bars traded volume amount and the horizontal histogram that shows volume on the bottom of most trading platforms charts, but volume profile is another way of showing traded volume amount on the chart, instead of showing each bar volume we show each price level volume and by using this method we will be able to tell which price level had most trading volume and which one had least trading volume.
This volume profile indicator was the first volume profile indicator for the cTrader platform and it has a long development history that you can check on the changelog tab, if you have any suggestions that will help to improve this indicator please let us know.
TradingView has several free alternatives in the public library. It is worth noting that all of them are estimates - they do not work with the exact live volume data on the market and so they will not be 100% accurate.
Most often, TradingView volume profile scripts will give you a single histogram for a selected time range. That is the so-called volume profile fixed range. It is easy to read but accumulates back in time.
The full range of technical analysis tools on Cryptowatch is still very limited, but if you want to trade volume profile for free, you will most likely need to check back with a Cryptowatch chart, at the very least.
For more fluid data you will need to go to Cryptowatch, or at least double check back with it. The volume profile there is just the plain visible range. It will show you the full histogram as it develops in time.
Keeping your eye on the price action and on the high volume area at the same time, you will be able to see which side of the market ended up prevailing in the high volume ranges. But be careful - having too much freedom in your charting can make you paint the picture you want to see.
The fix range or visible range volume profiles on the other hand give much better information for short-term charting and trading. Filling of the gap is also something more likely to happen on your 15 minute time frame than in a massive weekly range.
3. Value Area (VA): Price range in which a user specified percentage volume was traded for a session. Volume profile traditionalist use 70% as it close to 1 standard deviation from the mean. The Point of Control is used as the mean on a volume profile.
Although this is the volume profile you have most likely seen the most often, I personally find it the least valuable due to how the session profile is typically displayed. It can be tough to analyze past profiles relative to recent profiles. That is why I prefer the candlestick volume profile.
Neutral volume profiles are characterized by a value area near the middle of the profile and price closes inside the value area. Out of all the distribution types, a neutral profile comes closest to a normal distribution.
Entire strategies can be built based off volume profiles or you can use them to develop context around your trades. When implementing Auction Market Theory and Volume Profiles the markets will become much more transparent.
Volume profile visible range (VPVR) is an indicator used in technical analysis for trading both crypto and other assets. VPVR is typically used for volume trading, which is generally most effective when trading larger-cap crypto assets.
VPVR and other volume profile indicators (VPIs) are generally plotted with the horizontal axis representing total volume traded and the vertical axis representing time. VPVR is somewhat similar to On Balance Volume (OBV), but OBV is averaged out over time, whereas VPVR provides numbers for specific intervals.
Volume trading is a trading strategy that uses volume-based indicators as the major factors a trader will use to determine a trading strategy, including determining their entrance, exit, stop-loss, and take-profit. The entrance is defined as the level at which a trader buys an asset, the exit is the price at which a trader sells an asset, and the stop-loss is the level that an asset must fall before a trader will sell to limit their losses, while the take-profit is the level at which a trader plans to sell an asset if it rises according to their prediction.
